Job Description
The Senior Accountant will manage financial reporting, statutory compliance, tax filings, and the overall financial health of the company in line with Indian accounting standards and regulations. This role involves overseeing ledger management, budgeting, audits, and mentoring junior staff to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage financial accounting, reporting, and compliance according to Indian laws and regulations
- Oversee general ledger activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month/year-end closings
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and ad-hoc reports for management
- Coordinate statutory compliance and timely filing of GST, TDS, PF, ESIC, Income Tax, and ROC returns
- Support internal and external audits, ensuring accurate and timely information provision
- Monitor accounts payable/receivable, cash flow, inventory, and fixed assets accounting
- Mentor junior accountants and drive process improvements for increased efficiency
Skills
- Strong knowledge of IND AS, GST, TDS, Income Tax, and Indian statutory compliance
- Proficiency in ERP accounting systems and advanced MS Excel
- Excellent English communication and coordination skills
- Effective leadership and mentoring capabilities
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5+ years’ experience in accounting and financial management in India
- Proven track record in financial reporting, audits, and statutory compliance
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and process optimization
- Position based in India
