Job Description

The Team Leader for Employee Relations is responsible for overseeing a team that handles employee grievances, conflict resolution, and workplace investigations. The role involves ensuring fair treatment and compliance with company policies while fostering a positive work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Grievance Management: Oversee the resolution of employee grievances and conflicts, ensuring fair treatment and compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Workplace Investigations: Lead investigations into employee complaints, ensuring thoroughness, impartiality, and confidentiality in all cases.
  • Employee Engagement: Support initiatives aimed at improving employee engagement and satisfaction across the organization.
  • Policy Adherence: Ensure consistent application of HR policies and practices across all departments and levels of the organization.
  • Team Supervision: Guide and support the employee relations team in managing cases, providing coaching, and ensuring the implementation of best practices in employee relations.

Key Result Areas (KRAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  1. Grievance Resolution:
    • KPI: Reduction in unresolved grievances and overall resolution time for employee conflicts.
    • KPI: Positive outcomes from grievance resolution, measured by employee satisfaction surveys.
  2. Workplace Investigations:
    • KPI: Timeliness and thoroughness of investigations conducted within the department.
    • KPI: Compliance with company policies and legal standards in all investigative processes.
  3. Employee Engagement and Retention:
    • KPI: Improvement in employee engagement scores as measured by periodic surveys.
    • KPI: Reduction in turnover rates linked to employee relations issues through proactive engagement strategies.
  4. Team Performance and Development:
    • KPI: Productivity and effectiveness of the employee relations team in resolving issues and managing cases.
    • KPI: Success in coaching and developing team members, reflected in team performance metrics.

Skills

  • Strong conflict resolution, negotiation, and communication skills both written and verbal for effective employee interaction.
  • Experience in conducting investigations and managing sensitive employee relations cases.
  • Familiarity with labor laws and HR compliance requirements to ensure legal adherence.
  • Leadership skills to guide and develop a team focused on employee relations.
  • Ability to foster a positive work environment that encourages open communication and employee feedback.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Psychology, or a related field.
  • 5-7 years of experience in employee relations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • If applicable, a No Objection Certificate (NOC) may be required from the current or previous employer, if applicable.
  • Valid QID (Qatar ID).
  • Ability to join immediately or within a short notice period.
