Job Description
The incumbent must have experience in the following:
- Establishing the networking environment by designing system configuration, directing system installation, defining, documenting, and enforcing system standards.
- Maximizing customers network performance by monitoring performance, troubleshooting network problems and outages, scheduling upgrades.
- Undertaking data network fault investigations in local and wide-area environments, using information from multiple sources.
- Updating job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.
- Reporting customer network operational status by gathering and prioritizing information and managing projects.
- Upgrading customer data network equipment to the latest stable firmware releases.
- To do the configuration of routing and switching equipment.
- To do the configuration of Network Management and Authentication Systems.
- To do the configuration of wireless systems and location-based services.
- To collect the required vendor/customer qualifications.
- To help in the pre-sales technical activities (POC’s, Site Survey, assessments….)
- To do remote support for on-site engineers and customer’s equipment during installation or hardware support.
- To do remote troubleshooting and fault finding if issues occur upon initial installation;
- Capacity management and audit of IP addressing and hosted devices within data centers.
- Liaising with project management teams and Vendor engineers regularly.
- Speaking with customers via email and phone for initial requirement capture.
- Preparing the Project lifecycle documentation (Scope of work, LLD, HLD…) in addition to the estimation of the required man days.
- Attend customer meetings in addition to projects kick-off meetings.
Job Requirements
- 8 -10 years field experience
- CCIE (or equivalent) is a must.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
